Utilizing GPIO pins while TFT Screen is plugged in

Wed Sep 22, 2021 11:49 am

Hey everyone. Been awhile since I've been here. Very excited to start a project.

I have a new project that uses a TFT screen that occupies the GPIO pins.

I would really like to use the shutdown button mod that just jumps 5 and 6 pins.

I have a GPIO "splitter". Would it damage the screen if I used the shutdown button mod while using the screen?

I have the non-touch version of the screen, so for instance, could I short out 13 and 14? or 19 and 20?

Pinout for screen

Thanks!

in case the touch related GPIO are not connected to any logic on the screen it should be possible to use them. You will need to edit the related script though.

What is the feedback from Pimoroni support?

That's a great point. I just asked on their support forum.

Thanks!
