Status of DSI?

Tue Nov 20, 2012 7:51 pm

So what's the latest on the creation of an interface for connecting an LCD via the DSI connection?

I've seen a few posts mentioning that it was not going to be anytime soon, and others stating it was being worked on and something should be available shortly.

The camera module will take several months and cannot be realized before XMas.
After that the display module will propably be developed.

That said , the development of a HDMI-LVDS adaptor (3rd party) has been promising ,
and should fulfil most peoples needs.

All I can say is 'we started on it'.
As with a lot of other work, most if it is done by volunteers in their spare time.
That means we have to work on it whenever we have spare tim (IF we have spare time).
It also means we cannot make a project plan.
Unforeseen things happen, (like the whole of the Broadcom camera team gets shipped out
for a few months to help finish an important customer product.
That sort of ruined our camera schedule a bit.)
My guestimate is we may possible perhaps have a DSI product in 6 months time.
