raspberrypi.org hosted on PlusNet??

Tue Jun 26, 2018 7:03 pm

Is RaspberryPi.org's website or DNS server hosted by an organization called "PlusNet"? I ask because there have been posts suggesting that because "PlusNet" is experiencing problems, access to some RaspberryPi downloads has been unavailable. https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband ... -p/1548572.

No, they are with Mythic Beasts: https://www.mythic-beasts.com/
From the answers it looks like there's a problem with plusnet's DNS servers.
Try adding a Google DNS server (e.. 8.8.8.8)

BTW: AFAIK plusnet is just a broadband provider, not a hosting company (but I could be wrong)

Plusnet is a BT Group owned ISP and not a Web Hosting entity:

Actually, we have been changing some DNS entries over the last day or so, so you may have encountered time when things didn't work as expected.

Unrelate to plusnet though, AFAIK.

My PlusNet network isn't getting any problems, but I'm using a 6to4 tunnel to reach the Mythic Beasts servers.

www.raspberrypi.org was not resolving on AAISP DNS servers for about 48 hours (it failed Monday evening and Tuesday evening for me). It's working now though.

It was working yesterday morning on A&A.

Dns entries have been updated without the ttl having been reduced first, so caching servers are taking time to rerequest the new updated data. Not my job, but that's sysadmin 101 to get these things correct :(
