Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Ordered - got to see if the 7 days comes true ... I noticed a typo - "A confirmation of your order ahs automatically been emailed to you"
I think RS needs to rattle some cages over this ... should have been tested before punters were let loose on it
.. Just saying O_o

Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
order done, all working fine.
Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Order placed and confirmation email recieved. Delivery in 7 working days. Looking Good
Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
mines still blocked. called them up and got a nice lady telling me to phone back tomorrow. someone really should have blocked the codes on order completion not on first viewing the order form.
Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Mine is fine too, finished payment at the moment.
however, I have a question....
It is said that there are currently only 1000 boards in RS, and my order reference number is 1215, does it mean I am not in the first 1000 ?

Re: RS Order form authorisation code input

I like that idea! That means they've only sent out a few hundred to avoid a complete system meltdown and my email is still on it's way!!

Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Order 1121 placed @ 8pm last night
Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
I'm 1133 - order placed at exactly 8:02 pm
I'm still doubting this whole 7 days thing. They must only have 1000 boards MAX as there are 2000 in the UK, with an unknown amount of them given to devs. Whatever is left must be split 50/50 between RS and Farnell.
Has anything been said about the other 8,000 and when they are expected to be in the country? I'd assume that both RS and Farnell should be producing them at full steam now that we know they passed the tests.

Based on comments on the main post they were 2-3 weeks behind the first 2K, which would make it just about now. You never know - maybe they're already here, ready to be shipped

Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Does anyone know what postage method RS use? I'm presuming it will be royal mail but wondering if it's registered so needs a signiture etc. For £4.95 + Vat it could be recorded and they'll still be covered.
Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
harrummpphhh – definitely a three tier class system developing here… ;-)
first class - admins/rpf
second class – people who HAVE raspi's or now have a firm order with RS
third class – the great unwashed (including me)
I think I shall go and sulk now…

Yeah it would make sense.
I found the email in my spam folder and did a check on their domain and it was showing as in a bunch of spam blacklists so its likely that most people dont even know they have the email. I only looked as I've got a browser addon setup to notify me every time an update is posted on the blog (yes, I'm sad :p)

Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Just so I understand, I registered some time ago and have had a couple of e-mails from RS providing updates. Now orders are being taken I assume RS will at some point, send me an E-Mail saying "congratulations you are number xxxxxx and can now order a RPi! Please note the code below when entering your order…….etc".
Currently searching the RS site just takes me back to the "Register Your Interest Page"??
Anyone care to post a different link?
Far too exciting for an old duffer like me.

Yes, you're right - there's the process as I understand it. RS have created a completely separate website for the actual ordering of your Pi, which I presume they'll send out in the converted email. My guess is that they're trying to avoid crashing this new site by preventing several hundred thousand people from trying to get in without a code
While I'm very eager to get a look at the site, I understand the reasoning behind keeping it as private as possible - they struggled as it is to cope with a few hundred people on the site last night - imagine what would happen if someone Slashdotted the link!
My guess is that you can't get onto the site at all without a code (anyone care to confirm? Along with a few screenshots for us code-less losers? )

Re: RS Order form authorisation code input
Thanks - thought so. Just hoping there's one (or two??) less x's in that number!
