Re: Background picture
The more I look at that raspberry - especially whilst drinking - the more it looks like 'Mario' a la Nintendo lol
Re: Background picture
I've been trying for the last couple of hours to put a metallic edge round it, like that used in the banner, top of page.
Having failed miserably, could I just suggest it might look good if you could do it?

Re: Background picture
Wow ! You're an artist!
The first one was what I was thinking of, but having seen the rest, either black_glow or black_glow_curved are my favourites, and I'll be using one or the other as my desktop background.
Thanks!
PS no I won't show you my creation - I'd be too embarrassed. I'm not an artist.

Re: Background picture
Don't know how that sort of thing is done (not looked into it), but as it boots, my A9home shows an image (of the RiscOs cog) until the OS has started loading. One of yours would look good on a Pi. Power-on, the image appears, almost instead of a power LED just to let the user know the thing's working. When the kernel has loaded, then it can change to whatever.
Just a thought

Re: Background picture
We can change the start logo in Windows XP, with a little hack.
In the Geexbox Linux Media Center we can add a custom start logo.
As so, I think we can add any start logo to any linux distribution we want.
In Geexbox is very easy to do it.
But I don't know how easy is to implement it in other Linux distro.

Re: Background picture
Someone long ago asked if a vector file of the logo existed. That thread is closed, but having traced the logo, I thought I'd upload my effort here.

Ok that didn't quite work how I expected. I'll come back to you.
Try this (reduced to 10%)
They're supposed to have the same resolution, but Firefox makes a mess of both!
More things I've learned I'm ignorant about

Re: Background picture
thanks. my favorite is the pi_black.jpg its simple and on a lcd screen it seems like the raspberry is floting on the screen when u move ur head from side to side on the screen. think it have somthing to do with the colors, back light of the monitor and lcd view angle.
at the startup screen u shold use pi_black.jpg or somthing the let it turn slowley in to pi_black_glow.jpg or somthing as it loads. full pi_black_glow.jpg when its finish loading. but i have no idea how to change it in windows. but maby in pi. dont know if linux have a loading screen like that thou.

Na na-na-na na-na na-na! (I own the soundtracks to Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. Utterly shameful.) Love it!

Hmmm, very nice indeed. Inspiring
Re: Background picture
Nice job. I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought Katamari upon seeing the logo.
Re: Background picture
Thanks Pi'ers

Instead of the horrible default sound that windows plays on boot-up unless it's stopped, we need it to type on the screen "Na na na-na, na na-na-naa!"

Re: Background picture
(1024 x 580) credit to the pi logo creator, tux creators, pi gerber creator, pi gerber transformation creator, and the raspberry pi site organization. ....its kind of psychedelic looking but it sure does grab your attention when its full screen. made in fun for the site, have fun with it change it as you want its community property (free for all)
