I have created a USB based multichannel recorder/player app for RPI 4.

Thu Aug 26, 2021 8:43 pm

Just for fun - I created a small USB based multichannel recorder/player for touch based Raspberry PI 4 and audio mixing consoles like Behringer XR18, X32 plus Mackie DL16/32S. It can record from 2 to 48 channels, 24 bit, 48khz over USB to a USB stick. (Single multitrack file with support for wav, caf, aiff or W64 format…just to drag in to any DAW…or directly replay back to the mixer for virtual sound checks)

Seems to be a commercial product, so moved to For sale.

New version launched of Z-LiveRec (V2.20)

Some log improvements and minor bug fixes - plus testing in live environment for 3.5 hours recording using 32 channels in 48khz and 24 bit. (Generating a single CAF file of 40 GB)

Have a look on www.z-liverec.com for more info.

Hmm…Maybe obvious when it is listed under ”sale”…but there is a free trial version available.

You can find links to the underlying technologies used in the app in the manual…if anybody wants to build a similar app and spend a year or so in programming and testing to get it run smooth on a PI 4.

Best regards

New version launched of Z-LiveRec (V2.21)

News in 2.21 are some log improvements when recording, better control over the parameters directly in the GUI, new functionality to enable auto start of Z-LiveRec when booting the OS (for dedicated and focused use of Z-LiveRec), opportunity to enable windows borderless mode of the app (perfect when using a 3.5” touch display), auto update of the application and some minor bug fixes.
