Hi

I still stand by that comment but after RS have now extended the lead time over and above the one you agreed to then you now have reason to complain and to do so very loudly. I agree they are now taking the mick and should not be charging for goods they cannot supply.

Cheers

I'm agree with you... That's not fair. They take the money, and the customer is the last thing in what they think.

Best regards.

Hi all

I'm one of those peeps still waiting on my Pi from RS

Ordered 24-06 Number 1032XX in the UK

Invoice email for Pi and White Case originally quoted dispatch expected within 10 weeks
(which should have been 03-09 if my calculations are correct )

With the new RS news of the delivery times have been extended due to component problems, which i can totally understand, with demand outstripping supply. (I just wish they had said something alot sooner!) I now have no clue when my little pi is due to be shipped.

I havent received the RS email that was sent to other peeps on the forum about the delay.
Id normally say no news is good news but with RS who can tell :(
So ill just be waiting like everyone else.

But while i was pondering to cancel and order elsewhere I found something interesting

its out of date but the old Paypal agreement had some interesting reading
(im still going through the new agreement for the same clause)

Old Paypal User Agreement
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... ms-outside

Under - the following section
II. User Responsibilities
Section 4
Paragraph 2

"You also agree not to use your PayPal account to sell goods with delivery dates delayed more than 20 days from the date of payment"

Ill just be waiting for something to eventually drop into my inbox from RS or even better, through the letterbox :D .

Hope this helps somebody

That is only if RS is inviting us to pay with paypall. With ordering you can choose how you want to pay. So this one is on us...

Yup, and your PayPal receipt will probably say :-

Issues with this transaction?
You have 45 days from the date of the transaction to open a dispute in the Resolution Centre.

So you're screwed on that front too :?

to clear things up

i know theres not much i can do with my own order sadly..........

what im trying to say is RS may (if the above is true) may be bending if not breaking the terms and conditions RS would have agreed to to become a Business user of Paypal i.e. the agreement between RS to Paypal..... Not Customer to Paypal to RS

anyway end of rant lol

liz, do you have any news for us? It is really ridiculous that some suppliers has Pi in stock and we have to wait for months ......

Only what we knew before; it's a chip supply issue (more orders than chips), and there's not much we can do until they get their quota for the fourth quarter delivered. We did encourage them to get someone to come here to answer your questions.

I'll be waiting patiently. Maybe in time for christmas

In South Africa we had a number of instances where companies promised all taking smallish amounts from peoples credit cards with long lead times - effectively finacing those operations interest free.

And then folding... :(

I trust RS is better than this

Well since they seem unable (or unwilling) to answer e-mails to individuals, making a public statement would clearly, as expected, be out of the question !

Communication and information would ease quite a number of complainants minds, but there we are - they'll learn as they lose custom I guess.

Isn't it a shame when someone else has to disseminate their bad news for them. Thanks Liz.

Fair point - It does seem that there is some information being circulated.

However, since I have asked them repeatedy that as my order number falls some 15,000 before the first one published on that list, 'where is it', and had no response, I still stick to my comment about individual replies.

I'm sure they are Kaspaas, a much bigger company and long serving too. I have had many dealings with them over a great number of years - until now all of these dealings have been at very least 'satisfactory' and usually better.

If we want to get into the depths of legalese it may possibly be the case that they are in breach of the "Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008" (allegedly :D ) by selling / charging for something they don't actually have the means to supply - though none of this is actually going to help us to get what we actually want, and that is our hands on what we've paid RS for (a Raspberry Pi) if they don't have them, or are allocating them in some random fashion.
Perhaps its just time to cut and run, take my business elsewhere - to someone who actually appears to care - thats my biggest gripe, the lack of updates and responses to queries.

I've looked around the web and I can't find any mention of Maplin's Raspberry Pi package until mid-August. However, their website still says the RPi 'is due in-stock at the end of September'.

Maybe Maplin didn't place their big order until mid-July, a month before the announcement and this is why RS don't seem to be doing any September deliveries to individuals.

Large commercial orders are normally invoiced with the buyer having at least 30 days to pay.

If that is the case (and it's a big if) those individuals who placed their orders before Maplin but are now having to wait might actually be financing Maplin's delivery...

I'd love to, but I can't! That's not data that gets shared with the Foundation; as I said above, I'm really sorry, but there is a really limited amount of help (i.e. pretty much none, except from commiseration) that the Foundation can give you. You need to keep trying RS.

So I placed my order on 20/06, for 1 Raspberry Pi and 1 clear case, order number 83xxx, with a delivery estimate of 9 weeks.

Four days later my girlfriend placed an order, for 1 Raspberry and 1 clear case, order number 103xxx, with a delivery estimate of 10 weeks
.
My RP should have arrived on 20/08, but nothing arrives. On the 24/08 my girlfriend's RP and case arrived, but still no sign of mine.

I've emailed RS and got a reply that looked like a standard template saying the new estimated arrival date is 30/09 and nothing about why mine had been missed out in the queue.

I think RS were a poor choice for distribution as they'd obviously would have trouble organizing a piss up in a brewery.

If you haven't ordered a Raspberry Pi yet I would strongly recommend NOT using RS

Others who had ordered on or before June 25th have already gotten the Raspbeery Pi order.... that being said, this makes me ask ...where the H is mine? I paid in good faith and this random delivery crap and no emails fromRS or the raspberry Pi support email address leads me to believe that either their customer service SUCKS or my money is GONE. Either way I am left with a bad taste in my mouth about this...by the time I get mine if at all it will be a vintage machine just like an Apple II or a Coco3 personal computer.... how about it Raspbeery gang? how about some information for the masses here... people are starting to get just a touch testy here.....

My order number is 91xxx its for a Pi and clear case.

RS emailed me last week to inform me that my order was processing and that it should be dispatched by the end of (last) week.

However nothing has happened as per usual.

Seriously sick of this now.
