I am using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS 64-bit on my Raspberry Pi 4 8GB.
I want:
- Hardware video acceleration/hardware video decode on YouTube.
- DRM support for Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, etc.
What I still don't know:
- I don't know whether Firefox supports HWA for YouTube video decode.
- I don't know whether Firefox supports DRM as everyone seems to focus on Chromium when it comes to DRM on the Pi.
- I don't use Firefox, in fact, I hate it. And I don't want to use Chromium either, I would rather use Vivaldi. But I don't know whether Vivaldi supports HWA for YouTube video decode and DRM.
What I found:
- Vivaldi setup: https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/instal ... pberry-pi/
- How to enable DRM on Chromium (32-bit): https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/raspberry-pi-os-64-bit
Any advice is appreciated.
Re: What is the best web browser for Raspberry Pi 4 ARM64?
In my experience trying to find the best of anything never works out. What one really needs is a web browser which is good enough. For people who want to watch YouTube, it's possible the only browser good enough is the custom version of Chromium in 32-bit Raspberry Pi OS. If watching TV is not a priority than almost any browser is good enough.

From the keyboard of a Canonical/Ubuntu Developer -
https://ubuntuforums.org/ and https://askubuntu.com/ are good places to ask about things like this.
thorium has google sync / Re: What is the best web browser for Raspberry Pi 4 ARM64?
I noticed the M106 build of thorium ( https://github.com/Alex313031/Thorium-Special/releases ) seems to run quite well ... and it has google sync !
(I think I tried M102 or M103 before and it had a minor issue playing youtube videos : some control buttons would not appear ... this is fixed now
... )
it doesn t look like it has hardware acceleration when playing youtube videos though ... the raspbian chromium browser does have it however ... (ps : I am on raspbian ... I didn't check if thorium has hardware acceleration on ubuntu ...)
