Will the 400 be getting restocked..?

Hopefully this is a suitable place to post this question. Couldn't see another category it would fit.

Yes, the pi 400.. I've been occasionally checking to see if it comes back in stock for quite a while now, but alas nope. Specifically the UK version and ideally the basic unit but I've even consider the pack version now! Unlike standalone pi's which do see restocks occasionally, 400s just don't seem available at all, anywhere. Unless you want say a Spanish/German one.

With the Christmas season approaching I was hoping that some restocks might be on the horizon but I'm beginning to think it's just not going to happen. So, with the clamour for more pi's is the 400 just so far down the chain of importance that it will never see another release?? Perhaps a 500 will be released quicker, if such a thing is even on the drawing board?

Anyway, if anyone has heard any info on being able to buy the 400 soon, it would be great to hear of some news!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Yes unfortunately rpiloctor doesn't track the 400, quite annoying that. I'm already signed up to all the usual stockists too.

Signing up for in-stock notifications will probably not help you get a Pi-400. By the time the notification is sent and you check the web site, it will be too late and all the new stock will be sold.

You should order from a location that allows for back order status. Incoming stock first fills back orders and any remaining stock goes for new orders. If the back order queue is deep enough and depending on your position in the queue, it could take several incoming shipments to get your order filled.

If you are really desperate, you might place orders with multiple vendors and hope you can cancel before extra devices are shipped. If you were not able to cancel a back order before shipment and given the current environment, you should not have a problem selling an extra devices.

You can buy official UK keyboard and swap the keyboard front part. It is identical except power icon on F10. see viewtopic.php?t=305253

BTW I have one 400 US version I don't use (have CM4 based boards with nvme now) so if it would save Christmas for you I could sell it but then you would have same problem. Still have box it came with so it is as good as new, see http://ibb.co/p0GpJyG Could ship inside EU and possibly also UK

Yep. I did that keyboard swap ...for a different reason...a glass of milk suffered a UFIT (UFIP? ) into it.

Works fine.

It is also possible to buy strips of keyboard decals which you stick over keys.

I found an Australian version on DigiKey that is in stock.

That would be a UK keyboard. We are not (yet) a part of the US -- indeed the US should still be part of the UK, if our government had treated them right as regards tax and representation

Thanks for the heads up, my Pi 400 was stolen a couple of months ago and I'd been searching for a replacement ever since, I was able to order a Pi 400 kit from DigiKey which arrived this afternoon, ordered Saturday Morning, Processed Monday arrived Wednesday, all for the pricey sum of £100.50 (note: this is for the full kit, hardly scalper prices ).

Anyway, apart from US keyboard layout (I'll buy a UK keyboard later) and PSU (fortunately my UK PSU wasn't stolen) I am once again the proud owner of a 400.

Kudos to Digikey, order processed on Monday and delivered from US to UK by Wednesday with free P&P.

As I said, it was only the 400 (amongst other non pi related equipment) that was stolen, I still have the UK psu, The idiot that done it (caught BTW) didn't even realise that the SSD connected was worth almost as much as the 400.
