Hopefully this is a suitable place to post this question. Couldn't see another category it would fit.
Yes, the pi 400.. I've been occasionally checking to see if it comes back in stock for quite a while now, but alas nope. Specifically the UK version and ideally the basic unit but I've even consider the pack version now! Unlike standalone pi's which do see restocks occasionally, 400s just don't seem available at all, anywhere. Unless you want say a Spanish/German one.
With the Christmas season approaching I was hoping that some restocks might be on the horizon but I'm beginning to think it's just not going to happen. So, with the clamour for more pi's is the 400 just so far down the chain of importance that it will never see another release?? Perhaps a 500 will be released quicker, if such a thing is even on the drawing board?
Anyway, if anyone has heard any info on being able to buy the 400 soon, it would be great to hear of some news!

It's a bit fluid at the moment due to the ongoing worldwide silicon shortage, just keep an eye on rpilocator.com for stockists.

Re: Will the 400 be getting restocked..?
Thanks for the replies everyone. Yes unfortunately rpiloctor doesn't track the 400, quite annoying that. I'm already signed up to all the usual stockists too.
Also the thing with those lead times is that they end up getting moved about a week way from the dates. I had that happen a few times now. We'll see though, the end of this month would be a good time to get stock in for the holiday season, even if they only remain in stock for a few hours! I should imagine there is a lot of demand for 400s now and most are signed up to websites for emails notifications..

Signing up for in-stock notifications will probably not help you get a Pi-400. By the time the notification is sent and you check the web site, it will be too late and all the new stock will be sold.omzig wrote: ↑Wed Nov 16, 2022 10:54 pmThanks for the replies everyone. You should order from a location that allows for back order status. Incoming stock first fills back orders and any remaining stock goes for new orders. If the back order queue is deep enough and depending on your position in the queue, it could take several incoming shipments to get your order filled.
If you are really desperate, you might place orders with multiple vendors and hope you can cancel before extra devices are shipped. If you were not able to cancel a back order before shipment and given the current environment, you should not have a problem selling an extra devices.

Hmm, I did not know rpilocator didn't cover the pi400. I wonder why not.

Now I wonder if some people have been buying 400's and throwing the case/keyboard away and embedding it in things?

You can buy official UK keyboard and swap the keyboard front part. It is identical except power icon on F10. see viewtopic.php?t=305253
BTW I have one 400 US version I don't use (have CM4 based boards with nvme now) so if it would save Christmas for you I could sell it but then you would have same problem. Still have box it came with so it is as good as new, see http://ibb.co/p0GpJyG Could ship inside EU and possibly also UK

Works fine.
It is also possible to buy strips of keyboard decals which you stick over keys.

Re: Will the 400 be getting restocked..?
Tried several times, but the site rpilocator.com doesn't work or how long do I have to wait before something is getting on the screen? I get some bars with somewhere "loading" which stays there forever. Tried with vendors en with country, but no information. I'm on a Pi400 and I used Chromium Versie 92.0.4515.98 (Officiële build) Built on Raspbian , running on Raspbian 10 (32-bits). On FF I do get a response. Bit odd that it won't work with different browsers.

I've bought from them and can recommend them.
You just need some stickers on the keys....

It has a US keyboard layout that has a £ symbol, so it seems like it's the perfect match for you! It comes with an AU power supply, so you'll likely have to get a local one separately. You can view the keyboard layout and power supply here - https://raspberry.piaustralia.com.au/pr ... pi-400-kit
Here is the link to buy it on DigiKey - 15 in stock at time of writing!! - https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... jAZhAXQL5A
Wanted to mention that DigiKey is an authorized reseller (had to click on Industry tab on the RPi site to see it). Also, I double checked that AU was the country code for Australia and NOT Austria, which is country code AT.
I picked up 2! Good luck!!

That would be a UK keyboard. We are not (yet) a part of the US -- indeed the US should still be part of the UK, if our government had treated them right as regards tax and representationpisqoversix wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 1:35 am

Re: Will the 400 be getting restocked..?
Thanks for the heads up, my Pi 400 was stolen a couple of months ago and I'd been searching for a replacement ever since, I was able to order a Pi 400 kit from DigiKey which arrived this afternoon, ordered Saturday Morning, Processed Monday arrived Wednesday, all for the pricey sum of £100.50 (note: this is for the full kit, hardly scalper pricespisqoversix wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 1:35 amHere is the link to buy it on DigiKey - 15 in stock at time of writing!! - https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... jAZhAXQL5A

Anyway, apart from US keyboard layout (I'll buy a UK keyboard later) and PSU (fortunately my UK PSU wasn't stolen) I am once again the proud owner of a 400.
Kudos to Digikey, order processed on Monday and delivered from US to UK by Wednesday with free P&P.
Anyone looking for an official US power supply

You should be able to get an adapter for that US plug, to convert it to UK 3 pin.

Re: Will the 400 be getting restocked..?
As I said, it was only the 400 (amongst other non pi related equipment) that was stolen, I still have the UK psu, The idiot that done it (caught BTW) didn't even realise that the SSD connected was worth almost as much as the 400.

You can get keyboard "stickers" to go onto a keyboard to convert them...Not terribly expensivewildfire wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 4:41 pmpisqoversix wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 1:35 amHere is the link to buy it on DigiKey - 15 in stock at time of writing!! - https://www.digikey.com/en/products/det ... jAZhAXQL5A
