I get this message on two different downloads I have done on different machines.
Can't open the .iso directly from Disk Utility either.
Anyone have answers?

When trying to mount the .iso image of R Pi OS desktop for Mac, I get the error message 'no mountable file systems'
Re: 'no mountable file systems'
so your using a mac and your trying to mount an iso using mac os disk utility.
why are you trying to mount the iso that is for writing to cd/usb for the purpose of installation?

Re: 'no mountable file systems'
...because I could not find any information on how to use the .iso installer
are there step-by-step instructions somewhere?

Re: 'no mountable file systems'
this is pretty much the same for any iso.
https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-a-u ... 1-overview
just make sure the iso is correct for your macs cpu.
make sure your mac meets the requirements of the os your trying to install
if the os offers a live option, try it first without installing.
some os's work better than others and may even target apple macs.
a popular 1 among my friends.
