This clone is one of the best so far (some Waveshare boards are really 100% compatible ones as well - but much expensive)

It even preserves the 3V3_EN pin (most boards exposes extra GPIO pins at the cost of 3V3_EN and ADC_REF pins).
Sometimes they remove some GND pins to have even more GPIOs.

Making it pin compatible is a very sensible idea. I might see if I can grab a couple.

Yes, there is so many decent expansion boards where we need almost 100% pin-to-pin matching (e.g. Citron Maker, Waveshare Dual / Quad Expansion if you use some advanced modules like UPS, etc).

I cannot understand why some clones have pin 36 and 37 swapped i.e. 3V3 is wired to pin 37 instead of pin 36 (pin 36 is assigned to the GPIO). I can accept loosing the 3V3_EN but swapping these two pins is really painful.

I have not seen any compatible with PICO (phy factor).
There are some not compatible like Seeed wio rp2040 (wifi based on ESP8266 I guess) or Lilygo rp2040 (lcd 1.14" + ESP32).

There are some boards with pre-soldered PICO W module like MAKER-PI-PICO-MINI-W but they does not change the flash size of course... They simply add some features like LEDs, buzzer, etc

It does seem bizarre. I can understand boards having different footprints and pinouts when intended to be compatible with other products or be a different style board but, when it could be 'drop-in replacement' for a Pico or Pico W, it is ridiculous to make it not.

It reminds me of those Dell PC's and PSU's which used the familiar ATX connector but had different wiring.

Nice: though not exactly looking for more boards right now myself. Good to see someone finally get the pinout right.

Shipping will be a bit slow since Lunar New Year kicks off on Saturday.

My order is scheduled in the middle of February. Just ordered it out of curiosity.

Just got the boards. Unfortunately they have NOT included the USB-cable - be aware of this.

@retroscalerservice If you are this board creator, maybe some DC-DC converter chip for powering ARM core. Could be I2C GP24-25 on double duty - think it is doable.

And together with that, some boards, ex. Pimoroni Tufty2040 use BOOTSEL button as an input when board is running. So simple input and output on the board. And just aesthetics, smaller (flater) package for the flash might look better, but that's only me :D

It should be implicit that any RP2040 board which has a BOOTSEL button fitted can use it as an input button when running user code.

Not quite the same. The Tufty board also wires it to a GPIO.

Yes, there is example how to use it as 'GPIO', but is tricky to run. And here DC-DC regulator has no force PWM pin to drive, so one left to use.
