New install of raspberry pi desktop os on laptop not booting

I’m trying to install raspberry pi desktop os on an older laptop. Toshiba satellite c55-b5300.
Everything seems to install fine but when it tells me to restart and remove my usb drive, I hit continue and it shuts down, and the splash screen comes on then it says “reboot and select proper boot device.“
Can someone explain what I might be doing wrong?

have you tried going into the bios and selecting your hard drive to boot first.

you sure your drive is good?
