Modula-2 compiler for Pi OS?

Thu May 25, 2023 8:42 pm

The recent GCC 13 release includes a compiler for the Modula-2 programming language.

Does anyone know of any plans (either Raspberry-official or third-party) to package this compiler so it works on the Raspberry Pi OS, ideally with GDB and the Geany IDE that is pre-installed on the Pi OS?

Technically it should not be difficult to integrate this compiler into the Pi OS, where it would neatly fill a programming niche between Python and C/C++.

And there's mention on the net of such a compiler port already having been done a few years ago for Raspbian, but with an earlier pre-release version of the compiler.

Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.
