I am aware that this question may have ben asked a thousand times before.
I am looking for a new answer? I need about 5x 4GB pi 4's and I will only buy from reputable suppliers.

My real question right now is when can we expect to see Pi 4's in open market again?

Sadly I know that this question has been asked so much so please refrain from the obvious sarcastic answers!

Pimoroni had Pi4 4gb in stock for most of last week. You'd need to place 4 separate orders a day apart though but their P&P is reasonable.

Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have a nice project in mind for five Pi computers.

Everyone is saying the same thing, in particular, that there will be more next month and plenty by Christmas. As the Pi 4B was released in June 2019 and the Cortex-A72 upon which it's based dates back to 2016, I find it amazing demand has held up so well.

I guess that just shows, once a design has good enough performance and power efficiency, the important part is software and community.

In my experience, the best way to obtain Pi computers in these lean times is to set up in-stock email notifications with several authorized sellers, and when you get a notification, jump on it ASAP!

Most authorized sellers are now restricting quantities, so getting 5 in one order is unlikely. Expect to place several orders from different sellers.

There are some distributors that allow back-ordering quantities, but don't get your hopes up, as your back-order will just have its estimated ship date pushed back over and over and over... (ask me how I know).

Many popular on-line authorized sellers are receiving stock somewhat regularly, it's just that they sell out almost instantly, which is why you need to get on those in-stock notifications, and don't hesitate to buy when you get one.

I've registered with a few for notifications, never had one yet . Just lucky to see a Pi4 in stock and managed to get one

This question has indeed been asked and answered multiple times before. The replies in this thread are broadly in line with what we recommend people do to secure a purchase.

Note that the supply constraints are rapidly unwinding, and things are probably going to get better from here on in quite quickly. Also, thanks for not giving scalpers money.
