Imager v1.7.5 on Windows only installs 64-bit OS?

Hello,

Why does the Raspberry Pi imager (v1.7.5) only install Raspberry Pi 64-bit when I select Raspberry Pi OS (32-bit)?

I downloaded the Imager version for Windows, so that I can use Raspberry PI Imager to burn Raspberry Pi OS 32-bit on my external drive.

When I boot up the Raspberry Pi 4B with the operating system and type uname -m, the terminal reports back aarch64.

How can I install Raspberry Pi OS 32-bit with imager to actually install the 32-bit operating system and not install the 64-bit operating system?

check "file /bin/ls", you likely have the 32bit os

add to /boot/config.txt for 32bit kernel.

arm_64bit=0

if the system detects it can run 64bit it does, it's 64bit kernel and 32bit userland(gui)

if there's no particular reason you need 32bit, then you should go for the 64bit install.

Yes, you are correct. Using file /bin/ls shows:
ELF 32-bit LSB executable.
