Hi everyone, I have a problem with my project that I'm about to finalize.
I have a Raspberry pi 400 and cables and valves with 3 pins, and the problem is that how can I know if the valves send a signal through the GPIO, here is an example.

https://prnt.sc/4gIz3NXW9an3
I could really use some help as I've been trying to find a solution for weeks and it's a project for school, thanks!

Re: [really need help] Our projet
The picture shown in https://prnt.sc/QAcgCIvC5HBC is NOT a "3-pin valve", but a simple Single-pole dual-throw micro switch.
so I'm not able to help, as I don't get what you want to do.
also valves are electrically operated valves, they do not "send a signal"
instead they are operated with an electrical signal, but as this signal needs to power the valve and the PI (any kind of pi even the Pico) only controls a minute signal (3,3Volt, about 10mA max) a "driver IC" is needed to convert the logical signal out of a GPIO pin to a signal that can drive the valve.
so I'm not able to help, as I don't get what you want to do.

It is possible that OP is not a native English speaker and has made a minor mistake. A switch is essentially a valve for electric current.mahjongg wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 8:21 pmThe picture shown in https://prnt.sc/QAcgCIvC5HBC is NOT a "3-pin valve", but a simple Single-pole dual-throw micro switch.

What OP probably needs is some basic information, like this:

Oh no, not again.

Re: [really need help] Our projet
In that case, one would expect the "valve" to be what is called a vacuum tube on my side of the Pond. And, if so, its operating voltages are *way* different from anything that should be connected directly to a Pi.

No, one wouldn't.W. H. Heydt wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 11:42 pmIn that case, one would expect the "valve" to be what is called a vacuum tube on my side of the Pond.
