Hi
I recently bought a SATA hat NAS solution from Advance Communication Products. It arrived safely a couple of days ago but without any documentation. I can see how to assemble it but at the time I placed the order there was a link to a page with some comprehensive O/S configuration info.
Has anyone seen this and if so can you direct me to the page please as my lengthy Google searches haven't come up with anything useful.
TIA
Chris

Re: Sata hat NAS unit
You should contact the manufacturer/seller of that device for support!
Re: Sata hat NAS unit
In an ideal world I would agree with you, but as the seller (manufacturer?) is in Hong Kong I doubt I'd get too much joy. But I'll give it a try. Problem is there doesn't seem to be a relevant web site or email address. Hey-ho!

Re: Sata hat NAS unit
As the primary way to attach a disk to the Pi is USB, my guess is it's a custom SATA bridge. If so, then setting up a NAS would be the same as for any other Pi or Linux computer.
Did the hat come with its own power supply?
Maybe a photograph would help.
Re: Sata hat NAS unit
So now you and the forum users are in the process of 'advanced communication'. Discovering that HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) is likely something with a USB thing. UAH (USB Attached Hardware, not on top but on the side). And discovering where your money went. And trying to get the info about the thing you received 'communicated' via or on this forum.

Maybe it's one of these - https://geekworm.com/collections/nas-st ... berry-Pi-4 - but without knowing what OP has bought it's impossible to support.

OK, let me try and answer the points raised over the week-end.
@ejolson Yes it is a USB connected device and it came with its own PSU.
@mspl That was part of my reason for posting here. I thought that some bright spark might have already cracked it!
@trejan I followed a link from an advert on Faceache which I can no longer find, damned fool!
@redvli My PayPal account shows that the payment was made to 'adcomp Advance Communication Products Co., Limited'.
@aBUGSworstnightmare No it's not one of those. The nearest I can find is https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004 ... ainProduct
The video associated with the above advert comes tantalisingly close to revealing a link but fails to do so.
The Faceache advert had a link to a comprehensive set of changes to cmdline.txt & config.txt though, as I didn't study them in any detail, they may have just been the same as for setting up any other USB connected storage.
Thanks for your input one and all.

Re: Sata hat NAS unit
Taking a photo of what you had received would have been quicker. If it looks like that monolith case then its a Radxa quad SATA HAT.

That USB bridge connector....

@trajan
That is the link I was looking for. Many thanks. I'm well on the way to having a usable device.
Thanks again.
