Install fails

Sun Sep 24, 2023 2:46 pm

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I can use the two top run options but not the two install options. Both fail. On checking the image it fails verification. It complains that grub is corrupt. I've repeated the download and burn onto the sd with the same result. I've repeated the process using Debian 12 and that installs OK. I'm using an old hp530.
Thanks

1gb ram is not enough to run a modern linux desktop.

Isn't it the same Desktop as Raspberry Pi OS offers ? They seem to manage with 1GB and even less.

Strange that Debian 12 installs. I'll use another old laptop with 4GB ram.
Thanks for the thoughts.

I keep getting an error from the installer integrity check.
The file ./boot/grub/efi.img failed the MD5 chechecksum verification.

no, what are you using to write the iso to the sd card ?

have you tried anything else, usb flash ?

if your using a 4gb laptop you should be able to run any linux, maybe try another distro.

Could you perhaps explain what you had to do as that might help others experiencing similar issues, may help forum members advising others with such problems.
