Any automated audio recording software to use,?

Mon Nov 27, 2023 11:46 pm

I have a Pi 1 B and I'd like to be able to set it up so I can record audio between certain times, for example start at 12am and stop at 6am and also have those files saved every 20mins. Is there any software like this that could run on a Pi?

Step 1: Figure out how to record audio on the Pi.

Step 2: Figure out how to automate it.

There might not be a software package out there that does exactly what you want (I know, right?) so you might have to write it yourself. Because it's Linux you can probably cobble together a solution based on existing tools.

Here's a head start for step 1:

After a lot of digging I've found the solo recorder project which is exactly what I need. Thanks!

Yeah, you can use "Raspberry Pi Audio Recorder." It can schedule recording times and save files every 20 minutes. Easy to set up on a Pi 1 B.

I was going to suggest cron, but, whatever works...
