MX-23 RPi Respin now in beta

Mon Dec 04, 2023 11:05 pm

We're pleased to announce that the beta1 is available for download and testing. This now can proceed to Final through the standard update process. A reminder that it has been developed for and tested on Pi 4, Pi 400 and Pi 5; it will not function on earlier devices.

File size?
RPi OS both desktop versions are larger than this.
(EDIT, to say I mean both 32 and 64 bit, and the full one)

MX-23, what do we gain over RPiOS desktop, sell it to me?

Since it's been at the top of the DistroWatch hits-per-day list for 5 years or more, I'll just point you to the well-written short piece by its editor Jesse Smith:

That assumes people follow that sort of thing. Thanks for the link though.

Though the size of a one-time download has essentially nothing to do with this thread, let me try to get some perspective on your complaint:
--what is the size of the Ubuntu Desktop that Imager offers?
--is the same compression method being used by files being compared?

A beta2 is now available for testing (beta1 will be automatically upgraded so no need to reinstall):

Chromium now default browser because of its significantly better performance. Also has now been tested without issue on Orange Pi 5.
