Driving single 8k display using CM4 module

Sat Dec 09, 2023 6:41 am

I'm exploring the feasibility of driving a single 8K @60Hz display using the Compute Module 4 (CM4), specifically leveraging its dual MIPI DSI outputs.

Are there any CM4-compatible carrier boards that support dual MIPI DSI to HDMI conversion, enabling 8K resolution on a single display?
Alternatively, do you have any recommendations for either carrier boards or external solutions capable of achieving this?

Any guidance or recommendations in this direction would be greatly appreciated.

You simply can't do that as your DSI bandwith is not sufficient!
You can't combine both DSI to form a dual-channel DSI interface, and that would still be unable to support anything close to 8k.

And why the heck do yoi want to add a MIPI-to-HDMI bridge to that when there are two HDMI outputs available already?
