wow, that thing is fast, thanks :) I really need to move away from raspbian on pi 2 ...

first quick test shows some little minor problems when trying to use raspi-config.
expand root-fs does not work here '/dev/root does not exist or is not a symlink' - so using fdisk manually.
change localisation, keyboard layout also has no effect within raspi-config.

wicd does not work, or does not find anything. Issue seems similar to the UbuntuHF image I have read.
lsusb shows wifi-dongle, will test later if editing /etc/network/interfaces works

Hello all! ;)

I will review the changes in
-raspi-config (expand root-fs)
-wifi-dongle, editing /etc/network/interfaces

Thanks for the great image. I have it up and running but I'm having a little trouble getting the resolution to the desired 1920x1080. Anything I try with xrandr gives me this error:

Code: Select all

xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
Tried several different things to no avail. Any ideas?

You need to change the resolution in config.txt. On the Raspberry Pi you can't change the resolution from within X11.

Thanks for image work and firmware advice.

Debian repo built in Atheros firmware is poor with kernel 3.18. I'm compiled new driver. Its done. Not your fault.

Boot doesn't complete for me with this image; it hangs at:

Code: Select all

random: nonblocking pool is initialized
and I have to pull the power.

I put the rootfs onto USB drive and haven't used the huge config.txt that comes with the image - could either of these factors cause boot to fail in this way?

may i ask where you get the .zip file or the image to put on a sd card for the pi 2.. seems this dropbox link does not work for I thought that may be where the file is at.

Code: Select all

There's a firmware bug that causes that.

Thanks Dougie. I'll try swapping in working firmware and see if that fixes it.

Hi !
Great stuff ! I have been trying for weeks to get kodi to compile on my debian jessie rpi2, unfortunately unsuccessfully...

Could you tell us how you got kodi running ? I seem to run into problems with the gles implementation.

I would really like to try your build, unfortunately, the torrent is quite dead, i am currently downloading at 1kb/s...

Any other way to get your image ?

Thanks,
Karl

No (real) Adobe Flash plugin, never!

You are missing the hardware accelerated webkit engine that can use the GPU for playing HTML5 video. One more reason to stay with Raspbian.
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer
