is the raspian mirror server down?

I JUST TRIED:
apt-get install python-mysql.connector

But got this error:

I tried apt-get update but failed similarly

Please help.
My original sense hat Pi SD Card died and I need to install a new Raspbian + python + mysql asap to reduce the down time of recording the air pressure.

It appears it is down- It was working about an hour or so ago. Give it a little time and try again.

OK - I was about to post, asking if this was a systemic problem or just a "middle of the night problem" - i.e., a "try again later".

I'm having the same issue trying to install OpenVPN, booting from a fresh install of the 2017-01-11 release where the one and only setting that's been changed was to enable SSH.

Guess it's time to fire up a game and give this a shot tomorrow

You could (temporarily) change the URL in /etc/apt/sources.list to one of the mirrors: https://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianMirrors

Too bad. I turned out it was only partially normal. When I tried
apt-get install libmysqlclient-dev

it got another error:
E: Failed to fetch http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/rasp ... u1_all.deb 404 Not Found [IP: 5.153.225.207 80]

Hope the admin notice this error and fix it soon.

With the "406 Not Acceptable" error with apt-get, it seems to happen when apt tries to resume a partial download and the server doesn't support it.

If you get the "406 Not Acceptable" error, you can fix it by deleting the partially downloaded files from inside /var/lib/apt/lists/partial.

You can delete the partial downloads by running:

sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/*

Then run:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

It should take care of the issue!

http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ is not working for me at the moment, so tried:

deb http://raspbian.mirrors.wvstateu.edu/raspbian/ stretch main contrib non-free rpi

but that got a 404 on stretch/armhf
and then it also stuck on connecting to archive.raspberrypi.org

guess I'll have to go to work after all. I was contemplating "hookey" today.
