Multiple webcam usb | Raspberry Pi Zero W

Sun Nov 11, 2018 9:00 am

Hello, I have thought about placing cameras inside my car in case they rob me, or scratch the car.

What I had in mind was to buy several webcams of cheap laptops (they have a maximum resolution of 420p) and connect them to a USB hub and this to the Raspberry by the OTG.

Of system put MotionEyeOS so that it is recording and is a server.

1. The question is whether you will have enough USB broadband so that you are recording at least 2 webcams up to 4.

2. And the second question is if I can also connect an external hard drive where you can save all the recordings without having USB broadband problems.

Thanks!

Depends on the resolution, I was able to run three 2$ USB webcams with one Pi Zero with USB extender:
