I was making an icon earlier (.ico file, to be precise) and decided, for no particular reason, to make a Raspberry Pi one.
However, looking at other icons (predominantly the stock Windows 7 ones), the Raspberry Pi logo seemed a little flat (for this purpose), so having shaded it into something a bit prettier, I thought I'd share it with you guys here, as there are a lot of interesting things being made with the logo, and it might help someone who was thinking of doing something similar, or thinks it might work with their design.
That said, I am no graphic designer, so people may still prefer to do their own. Below is a comparison of the original and my modification.
(That is the highest resolution I have, as I based it off the website header's logo, so just copy->paste->crop to use!)
Re: Shaded logo
here's a crappy version i made
Re: Shaded logo
Razxa, that certainly adds something to the logo.
Re: Shaded logo
Nice improvement!
Shame there is no transparent version though to make a proper icon.

Re: Shaded logo
Here is the transparent version:
You can't see on the preview, but there is a white outline to the image, like the one on the header of this site, which I kept as (I think) it looks better when on dark backgrounds. It's smoothed to the transparent background, rather than a solid outline.
