Bluetooth keyboard (solved)

Mon Dec 17, 2012 9:17 pm

Hi!

I have problem connecting a Microsoft Wedge Bluetooth Keyboard.
I'm running Raspbian “wheezy”.

When I use the following bluez commands on a logitech bluetooth keyboard everything works fine.
bluez-simple-agent hci0 7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn
bluez-test-device trusted 7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn yes
bluez-test-input connect 7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn

But when I try the same on MS Wedge Keyboard it failes. No auth PIN prompt are displayed. Just this error:
> bluez-simple-agent hci0 75:EF:82:nn:nn:nn
DisplayPasskey (/org/bluez/1871/hci0/dev_7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn, 859669)
Creating device failed: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationFailed: Authentication Failed

When I use command "sudo hidd --search" it connect my MS Wedge Keyboard without auth and it works. But when I reboot the pairing are lost.

How can I get this to work?

Thanks!

/Christian

I had found this somewhere else and it worked for me:

echo 0000|bluez-simple-agent hci0 7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn
bluez-test-device trusted 7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn yes
bluez-test-input connect 7C:1E:52:nn:nn:nn

Then on the keyboard, type ‘0000’ and then press <enter>

Patch the /usr/bin/bluez-simple-agent script. Replace "KeyboardDisplay" with "DisplayYesNo".

I am having the exact same problem how do I "patch" bluez simple agent to change that exactly. Any further guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks! I had trouble getting a Rii Mini bluetooth keyboard to work on the RPi. It would not connect in the bluez-simple-agent hci0 command. But this worked (with one adapter but not another) using the patch described above:
Patch the /usr/bin/bluez-simple-agent script. Replace "KeyboardDisplay" with "DisplayYesNo".

I can edit the file but I cannot save as permission is denied. I can't even set permissions to everyone instead of just owner. The file won't let me, is there another way to do it?
