Have you ever heard a similar statement made by a cabinet minister in the UK or anywhere else in the West?

Would it be possible to run some similar contests for the Raspberry Pi that don't require anyone to meet in person?

It's that something people could help with through this forum?

Blame the trashy American Hollywood for ruining the definition of hacking and who/what a hacker is.
And they still do it.

Actually yes. There was an advert from Mi5 a year or so ago looking for computer experts where you had to hack into something to get to the application form.

Regarding this subject, I can say that it is imperative to ensure that your product is perfectly done for launching and is cyber protected. Nowadays, a lot of apps have a weak security system.
Here is a recent incident that suggests pulling in GitHub and other repositories automatically at build time can lead to supply-chain hacking

It seems computer security gets harder and harder because half of the dangers result from self-inflicted conveniences. I wonder if anything can or will be done in the future to lessen the chances of such things happening again.

I find it interesting that they don't target the traditional male "hacker".
If they want more, better "hackers" why focus on only one gender?
Where is the male advocacy?

What about non gender hackers like AI, those are supposed to be pretty good now.

Borderline misogyny here. Please don't do that. Its quite clear why this is focused as it it.
