Weird sudo apt-get update errors

Mon Apr 12, 2021 7:13 pm

All of a sudden (today) I get the following errors or failures:

$ sudo apt-get update
Hit:1 http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian buster InRelease
Hit:2 http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian buster InRelease
Hit:3 https://repo.nordvpn.com//deb/nordvpn/debian stable InRelease
Err:4 https://ookla.bintray.com/debian generic InRelease
403 Forbidden [IP: 34.214.135.19 443]
Reading package lists... Done
E: Failed to fetch https://ookla.bintray.com/debian/dists/ ... /InRelease 403 Forbidden [IP: 34.214.135.19 443]
E: The repository 'https://ookla.bintray.com/debian generic InRelease' is no longer signed.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

Since ookla is connected to speedtest I ran sudo apt-get --purge remove speedtest. Speedtest no longer runs but these errors remain. Running dpkg --list generates over 1100 lines so trying to isolate what is going on there would take forever.

Ideas?

Check yor repositories list, you appear to have added repositories which are not included by default ??

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
Take what I advise as advice not the utopian holy grail, and it is gratis !!

Remove speedtest.list from /etc/apt/sources.list.d

https://www.speedtest.net/apps/cli

There are instructions for the new repository.
