This project is not really RPi specific, but an unrelated post on the forum reminded me of it, so I resurrected it, put it on GitHub, and thought that here was an appropriate place to publicise it.
Many blind or partially sighted people listen to audio books on custom DAISY players.
A DAISY book consists of MP3 files containing the spoken content and a collection of XML files containing metadata enabling navigation through the book.
LibriVox (amongst other sites) provides free audio-books in MP3 format, but these do not have the DAISY metadata.
My MakeDaisy project generates the minimum metadata needed to turn a collection of MP3 files into a DAISY book.
