libqmi in Raspberry Pi OS seems to be already very old...how to get officially a newer one

Sat Sep 23, 2023 11:08 am

Hello,

when I query version for libqmi it tells me 1.26.10, which seems to be already around 2 years old.
There were plenty of newer version on

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mobile-b ... qmi/-/tags

It could be, because sometime in the past, I think source repo was moved,
that link to updates got lost.

What is the right way to get a newer version or at least clarify how to do this?

Many thanks!

Best regards,
Martin

One way, which might not be 'right' for you, is to wait for Raspberry Pi to release a version of RasPiOS based on Debian 12 'Bookworm', at which point you will probably find that libqmi will be at version 1.32
Ref: https://packages.debian.org/source/bookworm/libqmi

(And - No, I don't know when that release of RasPiOS will be announced. "When it is ready" is the official statement.)

Best guess is within a month or two.
