Display settings for headless

Fri Apr 25, 2025 4:19 pm

Hello,
I am a blind ham and have a self-voicing program that will run via wine. I normally use a pi at console level and not bother with orca and a GUI. So not really come across this before.

While installing wine via pi-apps over ssh I see the following errors.

0328:err:environ:init_peb starting L"C:\\windows\\syswow64\\rundll32.exe" in experimental wow64 mode
0328:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded.
0328:err:winediag:nodrv_CreateWindow L"Make sure that your display server is running and that its variables are set."
0330:err:environ:init_peb starting L"C:\\windows\\syswow64\\iexplore.exe" in experimental wow64 mode

I see the issue but have no knowledge of monitor settings or configuration etc as I don't use them. I tried using a dummy monitor that will mimic a monitor up to 4k display. But this makes no difference.

I have looked under display options of raspi-config but just don't understand them.

I'd just like to use my Pi 400 without anything connected to the HDMI sockets. How do I do that and not get those errors / complaints? :? :?
Thanks,

Gena
