Arrival Dates?

Hi, please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum but I have recently pre-ordered for the second batch of Raspberry Pi's, and when I got an email I was told it would be near July 2012! is this estimated delivery correct, or will it change once they are ready to dispatch them? thanks.

Edit: I pre-ordered from the 'Farnell - Element 14' site.

I ordered on the 3rd of March from Farnell and have absolutely zero estimation for my shipping. Apparently it's being sent via UPS, which I never selected.

I asked on the live chat if they knew why I had no estimation and they said no.

It's really hard to act mature about this and just be patient. Really want me some pi.

After I was able to pre-order after a couple days of website problems they told me April 3rd.  I guess we will see what happens.  I'm still stokked to get to put one to use, but for a couple projects I just gave in and bought other devices.

April 3rd is only a couple of weeks away now... surely you could have waited that long?

That is of course assuming that you do actually receive it on that date, which is still two months or so before a lot of customers have been told they will receive theirs.

I will be very interested to see when they will actually start sipping production models!

I was informed week commencing 30 April.  Now I have received a message stating delivery of my order has been put back to "around" end of May by Farnell.

It's getting a bit too much like ordering a Sinclair Spectrum back in 1982!

I put an order in on the 29th of April from farnell.fr and received an email from them on the 7th of March, which stating that my delivery date was expected to be the 23rd week of the year.  Patience is needed, but hopefully rewarded.

Umm, February did you mean to type?

E-14 in Australia have been silent, so my 29th Feb order was 66 days and is now showing 143 days lead time.

i ordered during launch day, Feb 29 and i didn't get any email from farnell NZ when the Pi is arriving.  not one email.

If you've had nothing from them then it's worth contacting them and checking that they think you have ordered.  I've had several messages - order number etc.

We can't do anything.

Like Alvin, I haven't heard anything regarding the delivery.

I sent an email which basically said they didn't know.

Alvin I suggest sending an email, and asking for them to find out. I pointed out that the forum had people who had ordered way after mine (0611 GMT and confirmed) yet we didn't have any idea if we were in the first allocation.

I intend to keep onto them, as its not right that we have no idea.

I don't mind the date slipping due to unforseen, but the can't tell bit is unacceptable in my opinion.

Also ask why we didn't get offered a T Shirt.....

Ah well. I don't mind waiting. I need to brush up on Linux and teach myself C. :p

I wonder, do the educational aims of the foundation embrace conversion of impoverished and ageing former arts students to programmers? Better late than never I suppose...

I hope we hear soon whether the compliance testing which has been mentioned will affect the first 'batch' of deliveries or not, as a lot of customers were given dates towards the end of March (only a few days away now!) which have still not been updated.

I ordered on March 13th through Newark and the estimated shipping date for me is April 13th, not holding my breath though.
