[Kali Linux] HDMI problem

Mon Sep 23, 2013 1:01 am

Hi everyone, I installed the kali Linux on raspberry pi recently.
But I got a problem after installed. When I connect raspberry pi to 27" monitor and start kali , the display resolution only have 1824x984.
It is no /boot/config.txt in kali Linux. So how can I fix it to 1920x1080 display resolution?
Plz!!

Have you adjusted the overscan parameters in config.txt? Such as turning overscan off?

I forget to say that it is no config.txt on Kali Linux, and i have also tried to add the config.txt file in /boot/ directly, but still not work...any idea, bro?

Have you tried the following:

1. Click on Applications --> System Tools --> Preferences --> System Settings
2. Click on Display
3. Click Drop down box, next to Resolution to adjust resolution of the monitor
4. Click on Apply to take effect

I have a similar strange problem with Kali and the Pi. When I install a new SD card with Kali, I have a black screen. No HDMI output, until I put the card in an older Pi (256 MB, no fuse). When I return the card to another (512 MB Pi), it just works. And keeps working. Could be my wonky Beetronics screen, tho...

As it is distro which many people here may not be aware of, did you ask in the Kali Forums ?

Searching is easy, most questions have been asked before !

in config.txt
uncomment

disable_overscan=1

that's it.
