Rasberry Pi cam

Mon Dec 14, 2020 11:23 pm

Hello!
I am an Arduino user transferring over to Rasberry Pi for a very big project. I am trying to install a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQ ... UTF8&psc=1

camera to my pi 4 b, but when I run raspstill - v -o test.jpg, it says that no camera is detected. It is in the camera port closer to the USB, and I have tried both directions for the blue tape. Any help?

Yes, the CSI connector is the one closer to the USB ports. (The other one is the DSI connector for the RPF 7" display).

If you look carefully at the connector, you will see contacts on one side. The "silver" (metallic) side of the cable end has to go toward those contacts.

The are tabs at either end of a bar at the top of the connector. *Gently* pull those up to open the connector. Insert the end of the ribbon cable fully into the connector and then--gently--press the tabs down to lock the cable in place. The connector is rather fragile, so handle it with care.

Since you linked to the PiHut blog on how to install a camera, I will presume that you went through the steps of raspi-config to enable the interface.
